**Classification of seeds [types of seed]

Important information related to classification of seeds, and types of seeds like Aadhar Seed, Breeder seed, Synthetic Seed, Hybrid Seed ,Terminator Seed, Nuclear Seed ,Genetically Modified Seed ,Transgenic Seed etc.

Various exams like UPSC MPPSC state PSC IBPS exam agriculture entrance exam ICAR exam etc. Is quite important from the point of view.

classification of seeds, and types of seeds

Types of seeds

The type of seed is classified into two parts -
1.Depending on heredity or genetics,
2.classification of seeds according to Indian Seed Act 1966.

Depending on genetics or heredity, there are five types of seeds, which are as follows.

1.Nuclear seed

This seed is the first seed prepared by plant breeding ie plant builder. It has 100 percent genetic and physical purity. This seed is used for multiplication of seeds of fertility.

2.Breeder seed

This beach is produced by plant breeders or any organization, in the middle of this, maximum genetic purity and quality are found.

3.Foundation seed

It is produced from seed breeder and it is produced on the basis of special standards, so that its genetic properties and purity are maintained.

This seed is distributed to farmers only after testing.

4.Registered seed

Under the supervision of the certification body, this seed is produced from the base seed, in which genetic properties and purity are maintained according to special standards.

5.Certified seed

The certified seed is produced under the supervision of an authentic institution, mostly in the meantime used by farmers for commercial crop production in the fields.

Classification of seeds according to Indian Seeds Act 1966.

According to the Indian Seeds Act, the seeds are divided into the following types

1.Hybrid seed

Under this, the first generation seeds are obtained by hybridization of two or more self-pollinated or pure lineages, these seeds have to be converted every year.

2.Synthetic seeds

Synthetic seed means a synthetic seat, consisting of seeds that have many differentiation, these seeds are able to combine well with each other, these seeds are obtained by mixing the seeds from all the versions with equal results.

3.Artificial seed

It is a type of specific seed, which contains a somatic embryo, essential nutritional growth hormone, pesticides, antibiotics etc., in which the embryo develops into healthy plants.

4.Genetically modified seeds

When a plant's natural gene changes its basic structure through artificial means, seeds obtained from such plants are called GM seeds or genetically modified seeds.

Characterization and purpose of genetically modified seed

The purpose of this seed is to reduce the need for water, eliminate susceptibility to diseases and pests, increase quality, increase production, etc.

5.Transgenic seeds

When any part of the gene of another plant or animal is added by artificial measures to the natural gene of a seed, the seed obtained in this way is called transgenic seed.

Its purpose is to develop a specific quality or specific ability in plants.

6.Terminator seed

These seeds are equipped with special qualities that once the crop is harvested, the farmers have to buy new seeds again for the next crop, because these seeds are not capable of producing the crop again, i.e. The seed produced from the seeds of the seed and the seed produced from the plant cannot be reused as a seed for the next crop,
